Large companies solved this by hiring a procurement department. A company without one cannot. So they overpay, make expensive mistakes, miss the better supplier, and they renew contracts they stopped using a year ago.

It started at my full time job as a corporate salesperson.I talked to a lot of founders and CEOs, and I realised they rarely knew what they were actually buying. So they asked me. And in that position, you never say the product is bad or a bad fit, because your one job is to sell it. I couldn't blame them for asking. But there was no way I was going to tell them my own product wasn't right for them.
Then, while founding Sthlmactive, I met a lot of new founders. Extraordinary people building generational companies. And I saw the same pattern there. As soon as they needed new software or AI services, they picked the supplier they already knew, or the one someone referred them to.I can't blame them for that either. These days there is a new AI product every other hour. Honestly, a lot of them are crap. But a few are outstanding, and just because nobody knows about them, they never get chosen, even when they are exactly the right fit.
That was the first thought behind Darwin: a procurement agent that learns your company, finds the best suppliers for you, and runs the procurement process. It is the first agent of what is becoming a full procurement department.
We are still at the beginning of the story, with a long road ahead of us.
